Hacking AppleTV via Mac

The instructions looked easy enough. But my machines chose not to cooperate with the instructions at http://lifehacker.com/5138423/cut-the-cable-for-good-with-boxee-and-apple-tv and http://code.google.com/p/atvusb-creator/. The problem presented itself as a nonfunctional Software Menu – the entire part the hack was supposed to install.

Turns out there’s a pretty easy solution, as indicated in http://code.google.com/p/atvusb-creator/issues/detail?id=428#c10. All you do is this:

Other notes:

1. I had to go into the XBMC Launcher menu –> Downloads and select Boxee alpha to get Boxee.
