Removing Google Updater

Installing Google Chrome sneaks in a very annoying Google Updater app that is always phoning home, even after you decide to UNinstall Chrome. It is possible to remove the little bastard!

Assuming it is in the /Library (rather than the ~/Library), do the following in a terminal:-
cd /Library/Google/GoogleSoftwareUpdate/GoogleSoftwareUpdate.bundle/
cd Contents/Resources/GoogleSoftwareUpdateAgent.app/Contents/Resources/
sudo ./ksinstall –nuke

If you prefer to leave it on your system, you can stop it phoning home with
defaults write com.google.Keystone.Agent checkInterval 0.
