About me

Hi. My name is kiwinerd, or Kiwi, or Amanda Peet. Whichever you like.

For my day job, I’m a physics professor at the University of Toronto. (No, I’m not a Hollywood actress – that’s the younger, American, Amanda Peet).

When I’m not doing physics, I’m typically playing with gadgets, taking photographs, listening to music, hiking, biking, downhill skiing, walking, chatting with friends, or learning. I think learning is a lifelong addiction for me. My interests include education, science, environmental sustainability, human/indigenous rights, medicine, and secular humanism.

About this site

This blog is for nerdy musings about computers and gadgets. Mac and iPhone 3G haters should stay well away. ;-)

I also have a blog for my friends and family members. I don’t blog about physics specifically -yet!- although I do make the occasional opinionated emanation from http://ap.io/blog/

As with all web sites, YMMV.
